Arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport (1,400 m)
Namaste and welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport , you are greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel in Thamel. The evening buzzes with mountaineering energy like gear shops, prayer flags, and climbers from across the world. Over dinner, you are introduced to the Ama Dablam Expedition team , beginning your Himalayan journey.

Kathmandu Preparation & Sightseeing
These days are dedicated to final expedition preparations permit processing, gear checks, and logistical briefings. Guided sightseeing takes you to Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath , UNESCO sites that blend spirituality with culture. Evenings are free for shopping or relaxation before the trek begins.

Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m)
A short but thrilling flight lands at Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. From here, the trek begins gently along the Dudh Koshi River , crossing suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. After 3–4 hours of walking past small Sherpa villages, you arrive at Phakding for your first night in the Khumbu.

Trek to Namche Bazaar from Phakding (3,440 m)
Today’s trail winds through pine forests, crossing the roaring river multiple times. After a steep climb, you reach Namche Bazaar , the vibrant Sherpa capital. Colorful markets, bakeries, and panoramic views of Everest and Ama Dablam welcome you to this iconic Himalayan hub.

Acclimatization in Namche
A vital rest day allows you to adapt to the altitude. Short hikes to Everest View Hotel or nearby ridges offer stunning glimpses of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam itself. In Namche, you explore the Sherpa museum and monasteries , enriching your cultural experience.

Ascend to Tengboche
The trail traverses ridges and forests alive with rhododendrons and pine. Descending to the Imja Khola River, you climb again to Tengboche Monastery , the spiritual heart of the Khumbu. Here, monks chant beneath golden statues, blessing climbers for safe expeditions.

From Tengboche, Ascend to Pangboche
A short but beautiful trek leads you to Pangboche , the oldest Sherpa settlement in the region. Prayer walls and ancient monasteries enrich the journey, while views of Ama Dablam’s striking ridges dominate the skyline.

Hike to Ama Dablam Base Camp
You leave the main Everest Base Camp trail, ascending into alpine meadows and rocky ridges. By afternoon, you reach Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,570 m) , a grassy plateau with awe-inspiring views of Ama Dablam’s soaring pyramid. Tents are set up, and life here begins in true expedition style.

Base Camp Preparation & Puja Ceremony
Two days are spent acclimatizing, organizing loads, and refreshing climbing techniques. A Sherpa-led Puja ceremony is performed to bless the expedition, with chants, incense, and prayer flags fluttering in the mountain winds.

Climbing Period : Ama Dablam (6,812 m)
The climbing phase begins. Ama Dablam’s standard route follows the Southwest Ridge , considered one of the most beautiful and technical alpine climbs in the world. Three high camps are established: Camp I (5,700 m): A challenging ascent over rock ridges. Camp II (6,000 m): A steep, exposed section of mixed rock and ice, often described as one of the most technical spots in Nepal’s 6,000 m peaks. Camp III (6,300 m): A small camp beneath the Dablam (the hanging glacier). From here begins the final summit push. Summit Day (6,812 m): A pre-dawn start leads up steep snow slopes and icy ridges. After 8–10 hrs of climbing, you reach the summit of Ama Dablam , one of the most iconic peaks in the Him

Trek Back to Namche Bazaar
After dismantling Base Camp, you retrace your steps through Pangboche and Tengboche, descending into forests and valleys. By evening, you return to the lively Namche Bazaar , where fresh bakeries and warm tea houses feel like luxury after weeks in the mountains.

Return Trek to Lukla
The trail descends along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing small Sherpa villages. After a full day of trekking, you reach Lukla , where the expedition team celebrates the successful climb.

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
A short mountain flight returns you to Kathmandu , where the comforts of the city feel surreal after the harsh beauty of the mountains. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with Sherpa teammates, celebrating your Ama Dablam achievement.

Final Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast, you are transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
