Detailed itinerary

  1. 1

Arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport

Namaste and welcome to the Himalayan nation of Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel in Thamel. The colorful streets of Kathmandu bustle with trekkers, climbers, and markets selling expedition gear. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali welcome dinner with cultural dance while your climbing guide briefs you on your upcoming East Peak climbing expedition.

  2. 2

    Kathmandu Sightseeing & Expedition Preparation

This day is reserved for final preparations and sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley, home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple, absorbing Nepal’s spiritual heritage before heading to the mountains. In the afternoon, your climbing gear like harness, crampons, ice axe, and ropes are checked thoroughly.

  3. 3

Drive to Trailhead and Trek to Village Lodge

Leave Kathmandu behind on a scenic drive through terraced hills, rivers, and rural settlements. By afternoon, reach the starting point of your trekking journey. A short introductory hike through forests and farmlands leads you to a traditional Gurung or Sherpa village. Overnight in a lodge, where you experience warm local hospitality.

  4. 4

Trek to Riverside Camp from Trialhead

The trail follows riverside paths through dense forests of rhododendron and pine. Along the way, you cross suspension bridges and pass small hamlets. The sound of waterfalls accompanies your journey. Tonight, you sleep in a riverside teahouse, adjusting to higher altitude and enjoying the rhythm of Nepal’s trekking culture.

  5. 5

    Ascend towards the Alpine Village

The climb becomes steeper as you gain altitude. Villages thin out, replaced by yak pastures and alpine meadows. Clear views of nearby Himalayan peaks begin to appear, offering inspiration for the climb ahead. Overnight at a lodge, where you enjoy hearty local meals and mountain serenity.

  6. 6

Acclimatization Day at High valley Settlement

Acclimatization is vital for a safe climb. Take a short hike to surrounding ridges (4,000 m) to strengthen your lungs and prepare for higher altitudes. Return to the lodge for hot meals and rest. Acclimatization hikes are an essential part of all Nepal trekking and peak climbing expeditions.

  7. 7

Ascend to East Peak Base Camp

Leave villages behind and trek into rocky moraines and alpine wilderness. After several hours, you arrive at East Peak Base Camp, set in a meadow beneath icy ridges. Expedition tents are pitched, and your Sherpa team establishes camp. Tonight, you dine under starry skies, surrounded by silence and snow.

  8. 8

Summit East Peak (6,000+ m) and Return to Base Camp

Summit day begins before dawn with headlamps lighting the trail. The route follows snow ridges, glacier sections, and steep icy slopes. Using fixed ropes and crampons, you steadily ascend. By sunrise, you reach the summit of East Peak (6,000+ m), standing above the clouds with panoramic views of Annapurna, Manaslu, and neighboring Himalayan ranges. After celebrating, descend carefully to Base Camp for a well-earned rest.

  9. 9

Summit High Camp via Base Camp

A steep climb over rocky and snowy ridges leads to High Camp, a windswept ridge closer to the summit. Here, the views of surrounding Himalayan giants are magnificent. Tents are set on snow platforms, and you rest early for tomorrow’s summit attempt.

  10. 10

From Alpine Village, Trek to High Valley Settlement

Today’s trail ascends through juniper forests and rocky terrain, bringing you closer to the snow-capped peaks of the region. The valley widens, and you can see your goal, East Peak, standing proudly in the distance.

  11. 11

    Climbing Training at Base Camp

Spend the day practicing climbing skills with your Sherpa guides. Learn how to use fixed ropes, crampons, ice axe, ascenders, and descenders on icy slopes. This technical training boosts confidence and prepares you for the summit push.

  12. 12

    Contingency Day

A spare day for bad weather, acclimatization, or delays. If unused, it allows for a slower, more relaxed descent.

  13. 13

Descend to Alpine Village from Base Camp

Descend steadily to lower altitude, retracing your steps. Oxygen-rich air feels refreshing after days in a thin atmosphere. Overnight in a cozy lodge, enjoying warmth and comfort.

  14. 14

    Trek to Lower Valley Settlement

The landscape shifts back into forests and farmlands. Villagers greet you warmly, and the air carries the fragrance of pine. Tonight, you stay in a teahouse, appreciating the simplicity of life in the Himalayan foothills.

  15. 15

    Descend to Riverside Village

A gradual descent takes you further into greener valleys. The river roars beside you, guiding you back toward civilization. Rest for the night near the river.

  16. 16

Return Back to Trailhead and Drive to City

Complete your trek at the same trailhead where it began. From here, drive back to the city, enjoying roadside views of hills, rivers, and bustling settlements. Finally have good rest for night at a comfortable hotel.

  17. 17

    Rest & Explore Kathmandu City

A free day in Kathmandu for recovery and exploration. Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, shop for souvenirs in Thamel, or simply relax with Nepali cuisine and spa treatments. Evening is for preparing for departure.

  18. 18

Buffer Day for Delays or Exploration

This day acts as a buffer for weather delays, transportation issues, or optional sightseeing tours around the valley (Bhaktapur, Patan, or Nagarkot).

  19. 19

Farewell Dinner & Celebration in Kathmandu

Enjoy a final day in Nepal with rest and shopping. In the evening, join your climbing team for a farewell dinner with Nepali music and cultural performances, celebrating your successful East Peak climbing expedition.

  20. 20
