Detailed itinerary

  1. 1

Arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu

Namaste and welcome to Nepal, land of the Himalayas! As your plane descends into the Kathmandu Valley, you glimpse terraced fields, ancient rooftops, and distant hills. At Tribhuvan International Airport, the rhythm of the city greets you with chaotic traffic, ringing temple bells, and smiling faces. You are transferred to your hotel, where you can rest from your journey. Tonight, the city hums outside your window, while you dream of the mountains that soon await.

  2. 2

Landing in Lukla and Trekking to Phakding

Today, your adventure truly begins. A thrilling mountain flight carries you to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu. The runway is short, the views are vast, and the air feels crisp and new. From here, the trail winds downward through pine forests and stone-paved steps. Suspension bridges swing gently above the Dudh Koshi River, lined with prayer flags fluttering in the wind. After three to four hours of walking, you arrive in Phakding, a riverside village where the sound of water will lull you to sleep.

  3. 3

Ascend towards Namche Bazzar from Phakding-

The trail climbs higher today. You pass through forests of pine and rhododendron, the river always close by. Bridges sway beneath your feet, decorated with strings of prayer flags. After hours of steady ascent, the terraced slopes open to reveal Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Sherpa world. Houses cling to the hillside like steps of an amphitheater, markets buzz with traders, and the smell of fresh bread drifts from small bakeries.

  4. 4

    Acclimatization in Namche

Altitude reminds us to pause, and Namche is the perfect place. A short hike takes you to the Everest View Hotel (3,880 m). Here, the world opens wide. Everest rises proud, with Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other giants beside her. You return to Namche with a heart full of mountains, free to wander through shops, sip tea, or simply watch village life unfold.

  5. 5

From Namche Bazar, Moving to Dole

Leaving Namche, the trail leads along ridges with breathtaking panoramas. The forests thin as the land rises, rhododendrons giving way to higher pastures. Yak bells echo across the valley, and mani stones engraved with ancient prayers line the path. By afternoon, you arrive in Dole, a quiet settlement where the night sky is filled with stars so bright it feels as if you could reach out and touch them.

  6. 6

    Trek to Machhermo from Dole

Today, the path winds through alpine meadows, dotted with grazing yaks. The air grows thinner, cooler, and fresher. As you ascend, the mountains draw closer, their snowy walls gleaming in the sun. By late afternoon, you reach Machhermo, a quiet village embraced by the towering presence of Cho Oyu, the sixth-highest mountain in the world.

  7. 7

    Ascend to Gokyo through Machhermo

This is the day of wonder. The trail carries you higher until the turquoise waters of the Gokyo Lakes shimmer into view. These sacred lakes are jewels of the Himalayas, reflecting the snow-capped peaks and the sky. Among them, Dudh Pokhari, the third lake, is the most enchanting. Tonight, you sleep in Gokyo village, nestled at the lake’s edge, where the silence feels holy.

  8. 8

Trek to Gokyo RI and Back to Gokyo Lakes, Descend to Machhermo

Before dawn, you climb to the ridge of Gokyo Ri. From here, the world reveals itself: four of Earth’s highest mountains, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, stand together in one panoramic view. Below stretches the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal, a frozen river of ice and stone. As sunrise paints the peaks gold, you feel the quiet majesty of the Himalayas in your soul. Later, you descend to Gokyo, then make your way back to Machhermo for the night.

  9. 9

Trekking Machhermo to Namche Bazaar via Khumjung

You descend through the valley, passing Khumjung village, where Sir Edmund Hillary built schools and hospitals for the Sherpa community. In the monastery, you may see a relic said to be the scalp of a yeti. By afternoon, you return to Namche, where familiar faces, warm bakeries, and the comfort of a lower altitude welcome you back.

  10. 10

Return to Lukla from Nmache Bazzar

The long descent carries you across familiar bridges and through green forests once more. The air feels richer, every breath easier. Finally, you reach Lukla, where laughter, celebration, and the warmth of fellow trekkers mark the end of your Himalayan walk.

  11. 11

    Fly Back to Kathmandu

A short mountain flight brings you back to Kathmandu. In minutes, the snow peaks fade behind clouds, and the lively city welcomes you again. The afternoon is free to wander through vibrant bazaars, sip Nepali tea, or simply rest at your hotel.

  12. 12

    Departure from Kathmandu

Your Himalayan journey ends, but its memory lingers. After breakfast, you are transferred to the international airport. Though you leave Nepal, you carry something eternal: the turquoise glow of Gokyo’s lakes, the golden sunrise on Everest, the chants of monasteries, and the quiet strength of the Himalayas within your heart.
