Arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu
Namaste and welcome to Nepal ! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel in Thamel. The evening hums with prayer wheels, bustling cafés, and shops filled with trekking gear. A welcome dinner introduces you to Nepali flavors while your climbing guide briefs you on the adventure. Tonight, excitement fills your heart as the Himalayas await.

Trip Preparation and Kathmandu city exploration
Today is dedicated to preparing for your expedition. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll explore UNESCO heritage sites like Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, or Pashupatinath, immersing yourself in Kathmandu’s sacred culture. In the afternoon, guides check climbing gears such as boots, harnesses, ropes, and crampons ensuring readiness for the climb. Evening is for rest or shopping in Thamel’s vibrant streets.

Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and Trek towards Phakding
An exhilarating mountain flight carries you into the Khumbu, landing at Lukla’s thrilling airstrip. Here, you meet porters and begin trekking through pine forests and Sherpa hamlets. The path follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing prayer-flag-lined bridges. After 3–4 hours, you reach Phakding, a peaceful village where the river sings you to sleep.

Ascending to Namche Bazar
Today’s trail is a climb into the Sherpa capital. You will cross suspension bridges, including the iconic Hillary Bridge, where prayer flags flutter against the sky. Steep ascents test your legs, but the views and anticipation lift your spirit. By afternoon, you enter Namche Bazaar, the lively marketplace of the Khumbu, filled with shops, lodges, and breathtaking mountain views.

Acclimatization / Rest Day in Namche Bazaar
This is a day to rest and adapt, but staying active is key. Hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880 m) for panorama views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. To learn about culture and mountaineering history, you can visit the Sherpa Museum. The afternoon is free for café visits, markets, or simply breathing in the crisp mountain air.

Trekking from Namche to Tengboche
The trail winds through forests of rhododendron and juniper, with constant views of Everest and Ama Dablam. After crossing the river at Phunki Tenga, a steady climb leads to Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual heart of the Khumbu. Monks’ chants fill the golden halls, and Ama Dablam glows at sunset. Overnight in this serene mountain setting.

Moving towards Dingboche from Tengboche
You descend through pine forests to Debuche, then cross the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge. Passing Pangboche, you move higher into open valleys where yaks graze. The air thins as you arrive at Dingboche, surrounded by stone walls protecting potato fields from mountain winds. The landscape is stark yet breathtaking, with Ama Dablam standing tall to the east.

Acclimatization in Dingboche
A second acclimatization day strengthens your lungs. Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) for stunning views of Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Island Peak itself. Return to Dingboche for a restful afternoon, enjoying hot meals and tea. These pauses are crucial for building endurance and safety for higher altitudes.

After a Rest Day at Dingboche, We will continue our journey to Chhukung
A shorter trek leads you into the Imja Valley. The trail is dotted with alpine pastures and surrounded by towering walls of Lhotse and Ama Dablam. By early afternoon, you arrive at Chhukung, the last village before Island Peak Base Camp. The village is small but offers stunning views of the surrounding giants.

From Chhukung, Finally Ascend to Island Peak Base Camp
Leaving Chhukung, you trek over rocky moraine trails toward Island Peak Base Camp, set on a broad meadow at 5,200 m. Tents are pitched, and Sherpas prepare meals while climbers rest. The atmosphere is filled with anticipation as gear is checked and summit strategies reviewed. Evening stars blaze above, heralding the climb to come.

Climbing Training at Base Camp
A full day of training prepares you for the summit push. Sherpa guides will teach climbing techniques like rope handling, walking in crampons, ascending fixed lines, and ice axe use. You practice on nearby ice and snow slopes. This day builds both skills and confidence, ensuring you’re ready for the ascent. Rest well, for tomorrow begins the climb.

Climbing starts from Base Camp to High Camp
A short but steep climb brings you to High Camp, perched on rocky slopes closer to the summit. The climb helps you conserve energy for the final push. Tents are pitched, meals served early, and you rest in preparation. As night falls, the air is cold and silent, with only the glow of stars to accompany your dreams.

Summit Island Peak and Return to Chhukung
Summit day begins in the dark, with headlamps lighting the icy path. You ascend rocky trails, snow slopes, and crevassed glaciers, secured by fixed ropes. The final section involves a steep headwall that demands strength and focus. At last, you reach the summit of Island Peak (6,189 m), standing amid Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu. The panorama is one of the most rewarding in the Himalayas. After brief celebrations, you descend carefully to Base Camp, then trek further down to Chhukung.

Contingency Day (Weather/Rest)
A spare day is built into the itinerary for bad weather or additional rest. Himalayan conditions are unpredictable, and this buffer increases your summit chances. If not used, it allows for a relaxed pace on the return journey.

Descend to Pangboche
Descending feels easier, and your body rejoices in thicker air. The trail takes you back through alpine pastures and monasteries, with views of Ama Dablam ever present. You arrive in Pangboche, a Sherpa village rich in tradition, where warmth and hospitality await.

Return Back to Namche Bazaar via Pangboche
You retrace your steps toward Namche, passing Tengboche Monastery one last time. The trail descends into forests alive with rhododendrons and bird calls. By evening, you return to the bustle of Namche Bazaar, where bakeries, shops, and cafés feel luxurious after days in the high mountains.

Trekking Back to Lukla
A long day of descent follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through Sherpa villages. At last, you return to Lukla, where the circle of your journey closes. The evening is filled with gratitude, laughter, and celebration with your Sherpa team.

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Another thrilling flight takes you back to Kathmandu. The afternoon is free to rest, shop, or explore. In the evening, join a farewell dinner with your team, celebrating the successful climb of Island Peak.

This extra day allows for possible Lukla flight delays, a common occurrence due to weather. If flights run smoothly, it’s a chance to enjoy more of Kathmandu’s heritage sites, shopping, or relaxation before departure.

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, our team transfers you to the airport.
